Cozy MysteryParanormal Cozy Mystery

Hello — I'm Kiera McCoy. After many energetic years as a middle school teacher, I retired and finally gave myself permission to stop only reading mysteries and start writing them. Who knew that teaching twelve-year-olds would turn out to be excellent preparation for cozy crime fiction? I imagine my stories in the small, fictional towns — the kind of place where neighbors wave, secrets travel fast, and the occasional ghost behaves politely. Most of my plot twists come to me during long walks with my dogs. Something about steady paws on gravel helps untangle fictional crimes before I've even made it home. My husband of forty-seven years is my first reader and most honest beta critic. If he guesses the ending too soon, I quietly go back and make it slightly harder. I adore animals, treasure my two grandchildren, and believe a sharp mind is the best detective tool of all. My mysteries are warm, clever, and twisty — with heart, humor, and never a need for gore. Welcome here! There's always another puzzle waiting.

The espresso machine was acting up again, which meant it was going to be one of those days. Sylvie just didn't realize "one of those days" would include a dead body. Her regulars cross the street to avoid her. And the real killer is still ordering coffee somewhere in Elderberry Cove. With the police circling and a Friday deadline for her arrest, Sylvie has no choice but to investigate — armed with a cat who keeps bringing her dead flowers, a detective who can't decide if he's suspicious or interested, and a gift she's spent her whole life hiding. Because Sylvie can read objects with her hands. And the murder weapon has a story to tell. The first book in The Elderberry Cove Mysteries — a cozy paranormal mystery with small-town secrets, a slow-burn romance, and a cat who knows more than she's saying.

Paranormal Cozy Mystery

She learned everyone's name in a week. She was dead before Christmas. Two months after clearing her name, Sylvie Gable's life is finally settling. The Roasted Bean is decorated for the holidays. The regulars are back. Her detective boyfriend's toothbrush has quietly appeared in her bathroom. And a charming newcomer named Nadine is winning over the entire town, one candy-cane latte at a time. Then Nadine turns up dead. And Pepper — Sylvie's cat, familiar, and self-appointed judge of character — has been walking out of the room every time Nadine walked in. As Sylvie digs into Nadine's past, she uncovers a trail of destroyed small towns, intercepted warning letters, and a killer hiding in plain sight. Someone in Elderberry Cove decided to protect this community. And they decided murder was the way to do it. The second book in The Elderberry Cove Mysteries — a cozy paranormal mystery with Christmas charm, a slow-burn romance, and a cat who takes everything personally.

The Good Boy Witness: A Pet Psychic Paranormal Cozy Mystery

Paranormal Cozy Mystery

Darcy's fresh start just got complicated. Fifty, divorced, and driving in circles through the Upper Peninsula in a teal rust bucket called The Pampered Paw, Darcy Walsh was, by any reasonable measure, doing fine. Then the cat started talking. Rinse, the tuxedo cat who came with her late grandmother's mobile grooming van, is telepathic, sardonic beyond reason, deeply unimpressed with Darcy's life choices, and apparently her problem now. Her grandmother, it turns out, was a pet whisperer—a gift that passes down whether anyone consents to it or not. Most animals just want to complain about late dinners and the mailman. But one is a grieving golden retriever who remembers the sound of his owner falling down a flight of basement stairs. He heard the argument that came before it. He watched a person walk out of that house like it had been an ordinary Tuesday. Lorraine Nordgren didn't trip. She was pushed. And the family she worked for has been burying secrets far uglier than a servant's bad luck. Now Darcy has a killer to name, a supernatural community she didn't know existed pulling her in, two traumatized German shepherds who need a home, and a soft-spoken local veterinarian who keeps turning up at the worst possible moments looking unreasonably good in a barn jacket. A warm, witty paranormal cozy with a sardonic cat, a midlife heroine finding her second act, and a small-town murder where the truth comes from four-legged witnesses—and the people who finally learn to trust them.
